Happy campers

Afin de profiter un maximum du long weekend on est parti faire du camping avec nos amis. Voici quelques photos du séjour. Quel bonheur!

To make the most of the long weekend, we went camping with friends. Here are a few photos of our trip. Sorry for the sunset overdose, but we don't get many sunsets here. It was so fab to be surrounded by nature.

Whistle while you work - what I listen to

While I'm crafting, cleaning or walking the dog (never all at the same time), I really like to listen to podcasts. Here's the list of my favourites:

CraftSanity - Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood has interviewed a lot of the big names in craft and design - Amy Butler, Wendy Mullin and Kari Chaplin to name but a few. She is one busy lady so new podcasts are few and far between but check out the archives as there's a wealth of inspiration there.

CraftyPod - Sister Diane's interviews are relevant to everyone with a crafty business. Recent podcasts which have been very insightful concern Wholesale, Fair and Profitable Pricing and Listening to your Customers.

BBC Radio 4 Women's Hour - news, politics, culture

BBC Radio 4 Friday Night Comedy  - in particular the News Quiz with Sandi Toksvig which has me laughing out loud

NPR: Fresh Air - contemporary arts and issues (I love Terry Gross' voice!)

How about you? Do you have any you'd like to share?

Photo Walk: "Round"

I'm slowly, very slowly, recuperating from the bug that came home with us. It left me zapped of energy, somewhat melancholy and wholly uncreative.

When I saw Elise's "Photo Walk" post on her (thoroughly inspiring) blog, I thought this was a good way of doing something creative which can be easily achieved - grab camera (in my case, phone), go outside, look around. It took ten minutes to do (in the garden) but did me the world of good.
I really enjoyed this creative exercise and will be doing it again next week. Anyone else want to play?

Back

We're back from Egypt, where we went in search of some warmth of the sun on our skin, and we weren't disappointed. I'll be back to blogging soon, once I get rid of the little bug who came home with us!

Inspired by nature: dandelions

C'est moi ou est-ce qu'il y a plus de pisse-en-lit cette année que d'habitude? Nous en avons beaucoup dans notre jardin et les enfants s'amusent à m'amener des bouquets de pisse-en-lit tous les jours.

Is it me or are there more dandelions than usual this year? Our back garden is full of them, much to the glee of the kids who bring me daily bouquets of "daddy lions" as they call them.

J'aime beaucoup les têtes des pisse-en-lit; je trouve leur forme très inspirante. Il paraît que je ne suis pas toute seule:

They are going to be very happy when they go to seed! I love dandelion clocks and find their shape very inspiring. It seems I am in good company:
